Sülmez Çolak is a German politician who has served as a member of the Bremische Bürgerschaft since 2011. Born in Bremerhaven to a family of Turkish guest workers, she is a qualified lawyer who has practiced in Bremerhaven since 2007. She was previously a member of Alliance 90/The Greens, serving as the party's parliamentary group leader in the Bremerhaven city parliament and as Vice President of the Bremische Bürgerschaft from 2015 to 2023. In 2024, she joined the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and currently serves as the SPD parliamentary group's spokesperson for media and digitalization.
