Before entering national politics, she served on the Ölfus municipal council and led the Ölfus Residents' Party. With a background in music and cultural management, she has held various project management roles, including positions at the Harpa concert hall and in the Ölfus municipal culture department. She holds degrees from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and Bifröst University.
