Saïd Chengriha

Saïd Chengriha is an Algerian military officer and government official currently serving as the Minister Delegate for National Defense. Born in 1945 in El Kantara, he pursued a long career in the Algerian National People's Army, notably serving as the Chief of Staff from 2019 to 2024. A veteran of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, he held various strategic commands, including the 3rd Military Region and the Land Forces. He entered the government in November 2024 following a cabinet reshuffle.
