Salvador Illa i Roca is a Spanish politician currently serving as the President of the Government of Catalonia since 2024. A member of the Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC), he previously served as the Minister of Health of Spain from 2020 to 2021, where he played a central role in managing the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before his national cabinet appointment, he held various local government positions, including Mayor of La Roca del Vallès. Illa holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona and a master's degree in Economics and Business Management from IESE Business School.
