Samirul Islam

Samirul Islam is an Indian politician and social worker currently serving as a Member of the Rajya Sabha representing West Bengal since 2023. Born in Birbhum, he holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry from IIT Delhi and previously worked as an assistant professor. Before entering formal politics, he was a prominent intellectual figure who helped organize the 'No Vote to BJP' campaign during the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections. In addition to his parliamentary duties, he serves as the chairman of the West Bengal migrant welfare board.
