Sarah Wolek

Sarah Wolek is an American politician serving as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 16 since 2023. Born in New York City and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, she holds degrees from the University of Maryland, Columbia University, and the University of Chicago. Before her legislative career, she held various federal government positions, including roles at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Office of Management and Budget, and served as a university professor. Wolek is the first Muslim woman to serve in the Maryland General Assembly and is a founding member of the Maryland Muslim Caucus.
