Sayeeda Warsi, Baroness Warsi is a British lawyer, politician, and life peer who currently serves as a member of the House of Lords. A former solicitor, she became the first Muslim woman to serve in the British Cabinet, holding roles such as Minister without Portfolio and Senior Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs between 2010 and 2014. Throughout her career, she has been a vocal advocate for faith in public life and has frequently challenged issues of Islamophobia and discrimination within political institutions. In September 2024, she resigned the Conservative Party whip to sit as an independent member of the House of Lords.
