Seán Kyne

Seán Kyne is an Irish politician who serves as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Galway West constituency, having been elected in the 2026 by-election. A member of the Fine Gael party, he previously served as a TD from 2011 to 2020 and as a senator from 2020 to 2026, where he held the position of Leader of the Seanad. During his career, Kyne has served as a Minister of State, including roles as Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Gaeltacht and the Islands. Before entering national politics, he worked as an agri-environmental consultant and served on the Galway County Council.
