Selena Uibo is an Aboriginal Australian politician who has served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Northern Territory since September 2024, becoming the first Aboriginal woman to lead a major political party in Australia. A member of the Labor Party, she has represented the electorate of Arnhem in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly since 2016. Previously, she held several ministerial portfolios, including Minister for Education, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, and Attorney-General. Before entering politics, Uibo worked as a teacher and senior educator in the Arnhem region. She is a vocal supporter of abortion rights and voluntary assisted dying legislation.
