Seo Kang-seok is a South Korean politician and former career civil servant currently serving as the Mayor of Songpa District in Seoul. After passing the 25th Public Administration Examination in 1981, he held various high-level positions within the Seoul Metropolitan Government, including Chief of Staff to the Mayor and Head of the Human Resources Development Institute. Elected as Mayor of Songpa in 2022 and re-elected in 2026, he has focused his administration on urban redevelopment, the creation of cultural infrastructure, and the revitalization of local economic zones such as the Songpa-daero luxury street. He is also a published poet and novelist.
