Shalva Papuashvili is a Georgian politician who has served as the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia since December 2021. A legal scholar by training, he previously held various roles with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and served as an associate professor at Ilia State University. Since joining the Georgian Dream party in 2020, he has been a prominent figure in national politics, overseeing the passage of controversial legislation including the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence and the Family Values Bill.
