小林茂樹

Shigeki Kobayashi is a Japanese politician currently serving his fifth term as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Nara 1st district. A graduate of Keio University, he previously worked in the banking sector and managed his family's real estate business before entering politics as a member of the Nara Prefectural Assembly. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has held several government positions, including serving as State Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Politically, Kobayashi is a conservative who supports constitutional reform, including the formal recognition of the Self-Defense Forces, and advocates for the strengthening of Japan's defense capabilities. He has been associated with the Shisuikai faction within the Liberal Democratic Party and has maintained a consistent focus on regional development and national security policy.
