坂口茂

Shigeru Sakaguchi is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Wajima in Ishikawa Prefecture. Born in 1957, he graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at Tokushima University in 1980. Before entering politics, he worked for a construction company and later joined the Wajima City government in 1982, where he held various administrative roles including head of the Urban Development and Planning divisions. He served as Deputy Mayor of Wajima starting in 2013 before being elected Mayor in 2022. He was re-elected unopposed in 2026, focusing his administration on the recovery and revitalization of the city.
