井上信治

Shinji Inoue is a Japanese politician and a nine-term member of the House of Representatives representing Tokyo's 25th district. A former bureaucrat at the Ministry of Construction, he has held several high-level government positions, including Minister for the World Expo 2025 and Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy under the Suga Cabinet. Throughout his career, he has focused on science and technology innovation, consumer safety, and environmental policy, including the management of post-disaster decontamination efforts in Fukushima. Politically, he is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and has served as the party's acting secretary-general and chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Chapter. He is known for his advocacy in areas such as space policy, regulatory reform for new technologies, and the promotion of regional revitalization.
