北村新司

Shinji Kitamura is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Yachimata in Chiba Prefecture, a position he has held for four terms. Born in Yachimata, he graduated from the Department of Agriculture at Chiba University. Before his election as mayor, he served three terms as a member of the Yachimata City Council, where he also held the position of council chairman in 2009. He was first elected mayor in 2010 as an independent candidate and has since secured multiple re-elections, including uncontested victories in 2014 and 2018 with support from various political parties.
