Hiromichi Sonosaki is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives for the Kyoto 6th district. Born in Ishikawa Prefecture and raised in Nishinomiya, he graduated from Kobe University before working at Kanebo Cosmetics. He began his political career as a member of the Joyo City Council and later served four terms as a member of the Kyoto Prefectural Assembly. After unsuccessful bids for the national legislature, he was elected to the House of Representatives in February 2026, defeating the incumbent candidate with the support of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Japan Innovation Party. He holds advanced degrees from Osaka City University and the Kyoto University Graduate School of Public Policy.
