Sophie Chatel is a Canadian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Pontiac since 2021. Before entering politics, she had a distinguished career as a tax expert, serving as a senior advisor at the Canada Revenue Agency and the federal Department of Finance, and later as the Head of the Tax Treaty Unit at the OECD. As an MP, she has focused on environmental protection, including efforts to designate Gatineau Park as a national park, and improving regional connectivity. She is a member of the Standing Committee on Finance and has been an advocate for internal party reform.
