Stefan Hartmann

Stefan Hartmann is a German politician and member of the Landtag of Saxony. Born in Erfurt, he studied philosophy and religious studies in Leipzig before working as a parliamentary assistant to Dietmar Bartsch. Hartmann has been active in local and state politics for decades, serving on the Leipzig City Council from 1999 to 2004 and as the state co-chair of The Left in Saxony from 2019 to 2025. Since his election to the state parliament in 2024, he has served as deputy parliamentary group leader. His political focus includes economic and industrial policy, the fight against child and family poverty, and the implementation of a wealth tax.
