Sue Lines is an Australian politician who has served as the President of the Australian Senate since 2022. A member of the Australian Labor Party representing Western Australia, she was first appointed to the Senate in 2013. Before her parliamentary career, she worked as a teacher and a prominent union official with United Voice. Lines is a member of the Labor Left faction and has been a vocal advocate for issues including the rights of First Nations people, the reform of Australia Day, and the end of mandatory immigration detention.
