Sylvie Goy-Chavent

Sylvie Goy-Chavent is a French politician serving as a Senator for the Ain department since 2008. A former teacher, she began her political career in local government, serving as a municipal councillor in Cerdon since 1989 and as its mayor from 1995 to 2017. Throughout her parliamentary career, she has been active in the Senate's foreign affairs and defense committees. Formerly a member of the UDI, she joined The Republicans in 2019 and has advocated for a broader coalition of the right, including positions that align with conservative and nationalist movements.
