髙橋透

Toru Takahashi is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Nichinan in Miyazaki Prefecture. Born in Sakatani, Nichinan, he began his career as a municipal employee in 1979 and later served as a labor union official. He was first elected to the Miyazaki Prefectural Assembly in 2003, where he served five terms. In 2021, he was elected Mayor of Nichinan, defeating the incumbent administration, and was subsequently re-elected to a second term in 2025. His political career has been characterized by his background in local government and labor advocacy.
