Yohei Onishi is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives and as Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs. Born in Edogawa, Tokyo, he is the son of former lawmaker Hideo Onishi. Before entering national politics, he worked in the private sector for eleven years and served three terms as a member of the Edogawa City Council, where he was instrumental in establishing the city's internet safety ordinance. After an unsuccessful bid for the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly in 2021, he was elected to the House of Representatives in 2024 and re-elected in 2026. He is a former competitive rugby player who represented Japan at the U19 level.
