Taizo Mikazuki

Taizo Mikazuki is the Governor of Shiga Prefecture, currently serving his third term. A graduate of Hitotsubashi University and a former employee of JR West, he began his political career as a member of the House of Representatives, where he served as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Since his election as governor in 2014, he has focused on regional development, environmental conservation of Lake Biwa, and disaster prevention infrastructure.
