Takanori Ota is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kitanagoya, Aichi Prefecture. Born in 1968, he began his political career as a town council member in Nishiharu, where he briefly served as the town's final mayor before its merger into Kitanagoya in 2006. Following the merger, he served as a member of the Kitanagoya City Council for several terms, including a tenure as its chairman. After an unsuccessful bid for the Aichi Prefectural Assembly in 2015 and a narrow defeat in the 2018 mayoral election, he was elected Mayor of Kitanagoya in 2022.
