Yutaka Ihara is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives for the Saitama 5th district. Born in 1983 in what is now Saitama City, he holds a Ph.D. in Science from the University of Tokyo and an EMBA from Keio University. Before entering national politics, he worked at Toshiba Solutions and Toyota Motor Corporation, and served three terms as a member of the Saitama City Council. In 2026, he was elected to the House of Representatives, successfully reclaiming the district for the Liberal Democratic Party. He comes from a prominent local family with a long history of public service in the Yayo region.
