Takeshi Toyooka is a Japanese politician currently serving his fourth term as the Mayor of Mishima City in Shizuoka Prefecture. Born in 1943, he began his professional career as a civil servant in the Shizuoka Prefectural Government, where he served as the first head of the Emergency Disaster Prevention Support Office. He later transitioned into elected politics, serving three terms as a member of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly before being elected mayor in 2010. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on local development projects, including the redevelopment of the area around Mishima Station. Outside of his political career, he is known for his background in baseball, having coached the baseball team at his alma mater, Nirayama High School.
