Tanja Machalet

Tanja Machalet is a German politician and a member of the Bundestag, representing the constituency of Montabaur since 2021. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), she previously served in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 2011 to 2021, where she focused on budget, social affairs, and health policy. Since the 2025 elections, she has chaired the Bundestag's Committee on Health. Within her parliamentary group, she is associated with the Parliamentary Left, a left-wing movement within the SPD.
