Tanya Hristova is a Bulgarian politician currently serving her fourth term as the Mayor of Gabrovo, a position she has held since 2011. Born in Pleven, she holds Master’s degrees in English Philology and Finance from St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. Before her election as mayor, she served as Deputy Mayor of Gabrovo for sustainable development and held roles in the Ministry of EU Funds. Beyond her local leadership, she is a prominent figure in European regional policy, serving as the leader of the Bulgarian delegation to the European Committee of the Regions and chairing the SEDEC commission.
