Tatsuo Mizuno

Tatsuo Mizuno is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Namerikawa in Toyama Prefecture. Born in 1963, he graduated from Niigata University and worked as a civil servant for the Namerikawa municipal government before entering politics. He served three terms as a member of the Namerikawa City Council, where he held positions such as Chairman of the Industrial Construction Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Council. After an unsuccessful bid for mayor in 2018, he was first elected mayor in 2022 and subsequently re-elected unopposed in 2026. Mizuno has focused on municipal digital transformation and community development, and he gained public attention for his volunteer efforts during disaster relief operations following the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake.
