Tatsuya Ito is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Tokoname in Aichi Prefecture. Born in 1978, he previously worked in nursing care and retail before serving as a secretary to a member of the House of Representatives. He began his political career as a member of the Tokoname City Council in 2011 and subsequently served as a member of the Aichi Prefectural Assembly. Elected as mayor in 2019, he has focused on municipal administration, including implementing measures to address the COVID-19 pandemic through salary reductions for city officials.
