Teppei Maruyama is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kokubunji, Tokyo. Born in Kokubunji in 1981, he graduated from Waseda University's Faculty of Law and previously worked at Mitsui & Co., where he gained experience in international trade and business investment. After training at the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management, he served three terms as a member of the Kokubunji City Council. During his time as a council member, he successfully advocated for the expansion of support periods for bone marrow donors. He was elected mayor in June 2025 and assumed office in July 2025.
