Teruo Hombo is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Minamisatsuma City in Kagoshima Prefecture, a position he has held since 2009. Born in 1955 in the former Kaseda City, he began his career in the agricultural sector before entering politics. He served as a member of the Kaseda City Council for three terms and subsequently as a member of the Kagoshima Prefectural Assembly for five terms. As mayor, he has been re-elected multiple times, including an uncontested fourth term in 2021. Beyond his political duties, he is also involved in the local shochu brewing industry.
