Thanga Tamil Selvan is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of the Lok Sabha representing the Theni constituency. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent figure in Tamil Nadu politics, having previously served as a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Andipatti constituency and as a member of the Rajya Sabha. He notably resigned his assembly seat in 2002 to facilitate the candidacy of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. After a period with the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, he joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in 2019, citing concerns over the political direction of the AIADMK. He holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Madras.
