Tim Read

Tim Read is an Australian politician and medical researcher who served as a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly for the district of Brunswick from 2018 to 2026. Before entering politics, he was a general practitioner and sexual health physician with a PhD in epidemiology, contributing to extensive research on HIV and HPV. During his time in Parliament, he served as the Greens spokesperson for health and chaired the Integrity and Oversight Committee. He campaigned on issues including climate change, public health, and criminal justice reform before announcing his retirement in 2026 due to a cancer diagnosis.
