Tim Walz is an American politician and educator currently serving as the 41st Governor of Minnesota. Before his election as governor in 2018, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019, representing Minnesota's 1st congressional district. A veteran of the Army National Guard and a former high school social studies teacher and football coach, Walz has championed progressive policies including universal school meals, abortion rights, and environmental protections. He was the Democratic nominee for Vice President of the United States in the 2024 presidential election.
