Tjarda Struik is a Dutch politician and public administrator who has served as the mayor of Leiderdorp since November 2023. Born with macular degeneration, she has approximately five percent vision and is recognized as the first female, nearly blind mayor in the Netherlands. Before entering politics, she worked as a communications advisor and manager in disability care. She served as a municipal councilor in Zeist from 2018 to 2023 and is also known for her advocacy on inclusivity and diversity, including her work as a social media influencer.
