Tom Barrett

Tom Barrett is an American politician and former U.S. Army officer currently serving as the U.S. representative for Michigan's 7th congressional district since 2025. A veteran of the Michigan Army National Guard with 21 years of service, he previously served in the Michigan Senate from 2019 to 2023 and the Michigan House of Representatives from 2015 to 2019. During his time in the state legislature, Barrett was a vocal critic of pandemic-era emergency powers. He holds a degree in political science from Western Michigan University and previously worked as a financial analyst for the Michigan Department of the Treasury.
