Tom Sylvester

Tom Sylvester is an American intelligence official who served as the Acting Director of the Central Intelligence Agency in January 2025. A former United States Navy SEAL, he built a long career within the CIA, serving in various overseas locations including the Middle East. He previously held the position of Deputy Director for Operations, where he oversaw the agency's espionage activities and played a significant role in supporting Ukraine following the 2022 Russian invasion. He concluded his brief tenure as acting director following the Senate confirmation of John Ratcliffe.
