Tomihiro Nakahira is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Sukumo City in Kochi Prefecture, a position he has held since 2015. Born in Sukumo, he previously served three terms as a member of the Sukumo City Council, including a tenure as its chairman. During his mayoral administration, he has focused on local development and regional security, notably advocating for the use of Sukumo Bay Port as a logistics support base for the Self-Defense Forces. In 2021, he gained national attention for his decision to terminate a comprehensive partnership agreement with DHC following the company's discriminatory remarks. He is currently serving his third consecutive term as mayor.
