Tony Zappia

Tony Zappia is an Australian politician who has served as the Member of the House of Representatives for the seat of Makin since 2007. Born in Italy, he moved to Australia as a child and later established a career in local government, serving as the Mayor of the City of Salisbury from 1997 to 2007. Before entering federal politics, he was a research officer and a successful powerlifting champion. In Parliament, he has been noted for his advocacy on various social and international issues, including his 2023 participation in a cross-party delegation to Washington, D.C., to lobby for the release of Julian Assange.
