Tomonobu Murakami

Tomonobu Murakami is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Chikujo, Fukuoka, he graduated from Yokohama National University and completed his graduate studies at the University of Tokyo. He began his career at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (later the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), where he held various leadership roles before retiring in 2016. After several unsuccessful bids for office, he was elected to the House of Representatives in 2024 as a candidate for Nippon Ishin no Kai. He secured re-election in 2026 through the Kyushu proportional representation block.
