Tomonori Hattori is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture. Born in 1957, he graduated from the Faculty of Education at Yamanashi University. Before his mayoral career, he served as a member of the Yachiyo City Council for six terms, including roles as vice-chair and chair, and subsequently served three terms as a member of the Chiba Prefectural Assembly. First elected as mayor in 2017, he has focused on local administration and municipal management. In April 2026, he announced that he would undergo treatment for esophageal cancer while continuing his duties through remote work.
