Tsukasa Atsuya is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Yubari, Hokkaido. Born in Yubari in 1965, he began his career as a municipal employee in 1985 and later served as the chairman of the Yubari City Employees' Labor Union during the city's financial collapse in 2006. Inspired by the leadership of former Mayor Naomichi Suzuki, he entered politics in 2011, serving two terms as a Yubari City Council member and as the council's chairman. He was first elected mayor in 2019 and secured a second term in 2023 with the support of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan.
