Eishun Ueda is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Toyama 2nd district. A graduate of Waseda University, he previously served six terms in the Toyama Prefectural Assembly and worked as a public secretary for lawmaker Jin-en Nagase. Since entering national politics in 2021, he has held positions including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, as well as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office and Reconstruction. Politically, Ueda is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and has expressed opposition to the introduction of selective separate surnames for married couples and the legalization of same-sex marriage.
