Umesh Rai

Umesh Rai is an Indian politician currently serving as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing the Howrah Uttar constituency. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he secured his seat in the 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election after defeating the incumbent candidate. Prior to his electoral success, Rai worked as a businessman and completed his Bachelor of Commerce at a college affiliated with Calcutta University in 1997. He previously contested the same constituency in 2021.
