Upali Samarasinghe

Upali Samarasinghe is a Sri Lankan politician and a long-time member of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP). In 2024, he was appointed as a National List Member of Parliament under the National People's Power (NPP) government. He previously served as the authorized agent for the JVP in the Vavuniya District during the 2013 Provincial Council Election. Samarasinghe is recognized as the first Sinhalese representative from the Northern Province to be nominated from the national list, marking a significant milestone in regional representation.
