Valoree Swanson

Valoree Swanson is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 150 since 2017. First elected in 2016 after unseating an incumbent, she has established a conservative legislative record, including sponsoring the Save Women’s Sports Act and advocating for policies restricting abortion and opposing the legalization of marijuana. Swanson has also been a vocal proponent of academic freedom legislation regarding the teaching of scientific theories and has consistently opposed the granting of committee chairmanships to members of the Democratic Party.
