Shinji Wakayama is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Aichi 10th district. Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1973, he graduated from Ibaraki University before working as a policy secretary for veteran politician Tetsuma Esaki. Wakayama entered electoral politics in 2024, securing his first term in the House of Representatives through proportional representation after a close race. He was subsequently elected to his seat in the 2026 general election. In addition to his legislative duties, he has served as a Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office in the Sanae Takaichi administration.
