Wang Yi-chuan is a Taiwanese politician, civil engineer, and transportation expert serving as a member of the Legislative Yuan since December 2024. Before entering the legislature, he held significant roles in public service, including serving as the director general of the Taichung City Government's Transportation Bureau under Mayor Lin Chia-lung, where he focused on MRT planning and traffic management. An academic by background, he previously chaired the Department of Transportation and Logistics at Toko University. Wang has been a prominent figure within the Democratic Progressive Party, serving as the director of its Policy Research and Coordinating Committee. In 2024, he was sanctioned by the People's Republic of China as a 'diehard Taiwan independence separatist,' a designation he has publicly dismissed.
