Wataru Kurihara is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives for the Fukuoka 5th district. He previously served as a member of the Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly, where he held the position of the 69th Prefectural Assembly Speaker. After a career as a political secretary, he was elected to the national legislature in 2024 and subsequently appointed as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare in the Sanae Takaichi Cabinet. He is actively involved in local agricultural and martial arts organizations in Fukuoka.
